Sonic Labs announced the integration of Chainlink’s CCIP, along with Data Streams and Data Feeds, into its mainnet. This move allows developers to create high-performance DeFi apps that operate seamlessly across multiple blockchain ecosystems.
Key advantages of Chainlink integration include enhanced network security, programmable cross-chain tokens, and support for arbitrary messaging. These features are expected to unlock new use cases and revolutionize DeFi application development on Sonic.
Sonic’s Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) L1 mainnet launched in December 2024, offering 10,000 transactions per second with sub-second finality. Earlier this month, Sonic also adopted Circle’s bridged USDC standard, paving the way for broader developer activity.
Chainlink’s CCIP is already utilized by major institutions like Fidelity, Swift, and ANZ Bank, as well as DeFi giants like Aave and Lido. With Sonic joining this ecosystem, the future of cross-chain interoperability looks promising.
